images-labelsImages Labels is a bespoke label provider based in South Yorkshire. Owner and Managing Director, David Metcalfe, engaged Lamplighter Associates to deliver a strategic review to help to grow his business.

Lamplighter provided this support under the GrowthAccelerator Programme, which provides funding to companies identified as having the ability to increase their workforce or double turnover in 3 years.

The business was profitable, with a loyal customer base, but there was a lack of clarity on the company’s strategic direction and David was keen to assert more control.

The challenges faced by the company were many: internally, there were some process and system weaknesses; there was no central customer database available; the company did no digital marketing and much of their written marketing material was outdated.

Lamplighter reviewed the entire business model and made recommendations for improvement. Targets were put in place and a strategic plan was agreed to guide Images through the subsequent 12-18 months.

Images customers had loyal to them for more than 20 years but no formal feedback had ever been sought. To assist with rebranding the company and determining their core strengths in the eyes of their customers, Lamplighter interviewed a number of customers to ascertain what factors were important to them. The feedback showed that their personal service and track record on delivery was second to none.

Over a 10-month period, Lamplighter worked alongside Images to deliver the following:

  • a 12-month strategy plan with recommendations on areas requiring focus,
  • a customer satisfaction survey with recommendations for improvements
  • a central database of all customers with the ability to produce some management information
  • a rebrand of the company logo and promotional marketing materials emphasizing Images’ core strengths and their offering to customers
  • a re-design of the company website to enable it to better service their current customer base.

Lamplighter provided support to Images Labels for 10 months and continues to work with Images in an advisory capacity.
